Hello, April! (plus free calendar & tech pretties)
Why hello there, April! You snuck up on me, but boy am I glad to see you. You are bringing with you more sunshine and all the flowers. And I couldn’t be more excited about it!
SPRING IS A TIME TO REFRESH & RESET
Spring has always been a time of refresh for me - whether it’s at home with spring cleaning and (often) redecorating or in life with a reset and refocusing of my goals and priorities. Spring brings this amazing possibility and hope for the future. This is why it’s my second favorite season (only second to fall because, well, my birthday, boots, and scarves - enough said).
All the blooming flowers, buzzing insects, and warm rays of sunshine bring a truly electric feeling to each day. I love waking up to birds singing a beautiful song right outside my window and the warm sunshine streaming in through the cracks in the blinds. The only thing that could make it better is the smell of fresh coffee and pastries wafting in from the kitchen and freshly picked flowers from the garden sitting on my nightstand. But, we live in the real world and I have to make my own coffee and breakfast. ;) Oh, and I can’t keep plants alive to save my life.
Despite that, I do someday dream of having a huge garden full of all my favorites - tulips, peonies, roses, ranunculus, poppies, hyacinth, lilies, bluebells, lavender, and so many more! They will, of course, be taken care of by a gardener because I have the blackest thumb you can imagine. For real, y’all, I kill succulents. How is that even possible?! Do you have a garden? Do you keep it alive? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments.
MY TRICK FOR KEEPING FLOWERS ALIVE
The one type of flowers that I can manage to keep alive, though, are digital flowers. I love using photos or illustrations of flowers as my desktop and phone wallpapers! Sometimes I’ll add my weekly affirmation, or a positive quote or poem, or a calendar, or I’ll just leave them blank so I can see the full beauty of the flowers.
To start April, I’m using this beautiful calendar as my wallpaper on both my phone and my desktop. I love it for two reasons - 1) The flowers won’t die - hallelujah! And 2) It reminds me that everyday brings reasons for hope and joy. What more could I ask for in a tech pretty?!
And I'd love to share it with you. Enjoy!
